August 2010

When He went ashore, He saw a large crowd,
and felt compassion for them and healed their sick.
Matthew 14:14

As it was in Jesus' days it is today:
The people are lost, lonely, and desperate for help and forgiveness.
Do we feel compassion as Jesus did?
Does it hurt us when we see them hurting?
Do we give it all in order to save some?

On a recent outreach at the beach in Tel Aviv we could see again how hungry Israelis really are, curious and eager to hear us. Jacob is preaching here to a big crowd, the Gospel is very plain and clear and everyone is listening carefully. We pray that the seed will grow into a big tree of faith in many hearts.

Only one man was upset and threatened to kill Jacob... If the prophets would have stopped what the Lord had called them for just because of a little (or big) opposition, we would still worship the stones, the moon and the stars. Praise God they didn't!

We will not stop either. There are so many people in Israel - in the whole world, who are lost, so "we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard." Acts 4:20

June 2010

"If you will return, O Israel," declares the LORD,
"Then you should return to Me
And if you will put away your detested things from My presence,
And will not waver,
And you will swear, 'As the LORD lives,'
In truth, in justice and in righteousness;
Then the nations will bless themselves in Him,
And in Him they will glory."
For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem,
"Break up your fallow ground,
And do not sow among thorns." Jeremiah 4

Now Baruch Ma'ayan's mosaic "Elijah and Elisa" on the sixth floor in Hotel Gilgal is finished! We are so blessed by his great artwork and would love to have more walls so we could order more pictures from him.

Thank you Baruch!

You may purchase postcards with the pictures on display in Hotel Gilgal as well as a book shows all our artwork as well as the pictures from the rooms. See more details here.

Packing food parcels before distributing them.

"I have found that there are three stages in every great work of God:
first, it is impossible,
then it is difficult,
then it is done."
Hudson Taylor

Abraham Lincoln once said:
"To ease another's heartache is to forget one's own."

Beloved friends out there,
brothers and sisters, who share with us the burden of our calling:

Thank you so very much for being with us on the way, for helping us get out there to the streets of Israel and giving to those, who don't have enough. We feel so privileged to be able to help ease their pain and we pray that we will be able to do even more in the future: help them to get out of their depths, find work, make a living, start a little business... we have many ideas and we just wait unto the Lord to show us the way.

For now we have the opportunity to give out food parcels (fruit and vegetables, can food, meat, eggs, milk, beans...) once a week to about 120 families. Praise God!

It I so true:
"As the purse is emptied, the heart is filled." Victor Hugo

Thank you for helping those, who need it the most!

"The most obvious lesson in Christ's teaching is
that there is no happiness in having or getting anything,
but only in giving." Henry Drummond

January 2010

We started the Gregorianian New Year with joyful dancing in the streets of Tel Aviv. We had a group here from the US, who with their dancing worshipped the Almighty God, who created heaven and earth. The dancing also was a wake up call for the people, who are desperately searching for life and who look in so many places where life - God - cannot be found. As we conversed with many and gave the book "Why Me?" to those, who were interested, we pray and believe that all of them will find the way to life: Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel!
